WNN April 20, 2018

I contributed by being on the special segment. Although I feel like I didn't contribute as much as I could. The value increased much more on the day I was absent. I feel like we can up our viewership by putting up posters around the school or maybe announcing its coming out on Fridays on the announcements. I think we should just really like our creative juices flow. Because people like Skyler and Gavin have really interesting ideas. If we meet our deadline then we it just makes sense to reward ourselves. Why would we reward ourselves if we didn't do anything to deserve it?

WNN April 13, 2018

I contributed to this weeks WNN by being on school news and sports/community/weather/and surf report. I did voice over for both, and took minimal b-roll for school news. Warrior news now is very stressful. I think I just experienced the most stressful part. I was filming the sports/community/weather/and surf report part at my house and I couldn't get my lines down. I had to have my lines memorized. And when I did for one of the segments, I realized I wasn't looking in the camera, I was looking at the screen of my phone (what I was recording with). I had to redo everything and it was really stressful. Plus i'm not good with all the tech equipment like the cameras and tripods because I wasn't taught everything last year in digital media. I should ask, I just feel stupid. Im starting to kind of learn but theres some things I still don't know. However this is also one of the most fun classes Ive ever taken. Its hard but the pay off is good. The classmates are like family. Monday and Tuesday is script writing day. Tuesday you film if you're lucky. Wednesday and Thursday is filming day. Thursday is editing day. Usually we post on Thursday or Friday. if we cant communicate we our team members, things wont get done. Ive found that i'm starting to get close with everyone in this class and I don't mind. Everyone here is really nice.

WNN April 6, 2018

I contributed to this weeks production by being an on camera host with Skyler. I think VR will impact the broadcast industry by making more movies and videos games VR oriented. Many movies that are out already talk about what life would be like with VR. And VR is technically already out, and it will only get better. However VR isnt cheap so not everyone can have it. Not yet at least. But maybe soon itll be a common household item like the television.

WNN March 29, 2018

I wasn't there for this week so I didn't contribute. I think the future for broadcast media is insane. Many things have already changed. Internet has become a thing and that has changed everything. Television is rarely used. Many talk shows have put their segments on sites like youtube to achieve bigger audiences. Younger people use internet usually because it is from their generation and they are particularly tech savy. However things like radio can still be important. People use it in the car, and its very important for emergency situations. As society advances, so does broadcast media. Technology needs to develop with people and; they correspond together.

WNN Week 9

BLOG POST:
I contributed to this weeks production by being apart of the special segment with Gavin. I was apart of the B-roll and did editing with Mr. Sanderl. It takes dedication to get the right shot to be a film Director i've realized. You have to have a vision and be patient to get there. A project manager makes sure the show goes on well and on time, kind of like what Mr. Sanderl does. The executive producer takes care of the production of the film and the quality of it as well as the finances. Finally, the Director of Photography makes sure that all of the shots are taken well and are pleasing to the eyes. If I had to choose from Broadcast Media pathways I would be interested in screenwriting and being the person that comes up with the ideas. Maybe also a project manager, although I don't know if I would make a good leader.

WNN Week 8

BLOG POST:
In relation to the creation, use and distribution of broadcast content, what does the FCC and FTC do to ensure compliance with legal and ethical practices? Do you agree with this... why or why not? (6 sentence minimum)

I contributed to this weeks production by working on the special segment. I did voiceover and helped with coming up with the idea. I also helped write the script but Skyler did most of it. I wrote the voiceover for the school news with Mr. Sanderls help and Gabe recorded it.
The FCC is the Federal Communications Commission. They regulate interstate communications basically everywhere on the internet. The FTC means Federal Trade Commission. It protects consumers and prevents anticompetitive business practices. The FCC and FTC both make sure everything is safe on the internet and that no one steals any one else's content. I don't know too much about either of these but iv'e heard that they are very extreme and I don't really ever stand with particularly extreme things

WNN Week 7

BLOG POST:
I contributed this week by being apart of the special segment with Kiara Wetherington. We did the segment on ACT strategies and symptoms. I really feel bad though because I was gone for part of the production. We have new rules including we must only use footage we take. We have to focus on the students and on our deadline. And have tons of B-Roll. This will change our production by making it harder to acquire pictures but make it more unique. It takes awhile to plan footage because you want it to fit the script. We had to keep refilming our process to make it flow. The preproduction has a huge impact because if you dont work hard it shows. You wont have everything finished on time which sucks. You can take B-Roll throughout the day or the week around campus. Even if you arent currently working on a segment.
